Script Change and Downtime

Traffic Roundup may be offline for brief periods of time over the next few days.

WHY? It is because the script that runs this free advertising service is being upgraded.

What do these changes mean?

Hopefully Traffic Roundup will not change too much. I know many of you members like it as is and have come to count on Traffic Roundup to give you consistant results for almost 4 years.

The changes that you will notice are designed to provide greater security and to improve the effectiveness of this traffic exchange.

If you encounter any problems please let me know. The programmer and I will be working hard to build a better Traffic Roundup.

NOTE: I have suspended the daily contest for the time being. Watch you email for more news.

Changes Coming to TrafficRoundup Traffic Exchange

I am putting the finishing touches on the NEW TrafficRoundup.

I hope to have the new version in place on or about November 1st. This would roughly coincide with the fourth anniversary of Traffic Roundup.

Some of what you can expect:
* New surfing game to win more credits and keep surfers (advertisers) motivated.
* New minimum surfing requirements.
* Surfbar changes
* Surfing categories for more targeted traffic.
* New script backbone to allow more new features in the future.

Stay tuned for more information regarding the release of the New Traffic Roundup.

Is the daily contest a good idea?

The purpose behind the daily contest was to encourage more people to use Traffic Roundup each day. However, after running this for about 2 months the number of people that use Traffic Roundup each day hasn't really changed.

I am sure that Traffic Roundup is more active than 95% of the traffic exchanges but it really should be growing. I am spending $150 a month on this contest and would like to be getting a better response.

What is your opinion? Does the contest encourage you to use Traffic Roundup more? Is the format of the contest fair?

Please add your comments to this post.

New Rules for URLs

While I try to be accommodating when it comes to what is acceptable to advertise in TrafficRoundup, there needs to be a few rules as well.

In addition to the current rules I have added the following:

* You may not advertise any sites that tell TrafficRoundup members to stop using the Traffic Roundup service.

* You may not advertise any sites that suggest that TrafficRoundup is not a good place to advertise. This includes ads for other traffic exchanges that compare their service to Traffic Roundup in a way that implies that Traffic Roundup is not a good place to advertise. These claims are almost always false. NOTE: You may point out the benefits of other services as long as they are not made to discredit TrafficRoundup or its members.

* Any page that loads search engines, auto-surfers, etc in hidden frames are forbidden. Any site that looks like some method to cheat PPC search engines, or auto-surf exchanges, etc. will be deleted by TrafficRoundup Admin. You may not receive a warning.

I welcome your comments on these new rules.

Contest Winners

The "October 1st Contest" winners have been choosen.

There were 152 entries. I enjoyed reading the nice comments that were incuded with many of the entries. Thanks.

How the winners were picked... I put all the emails into a folder. Then I scrolled up and down through the list while my five year old daughter yelled "STOP." The email I stopped on was the winner. How is that for technology?

Congratulations to: davesplace, egirl, philsgames, loveateacher909, and hdhardtail

New contests will start tomorrow, Monday October 3.
